7BOSTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (0-4) traveled to Simmons (4-4) for their first match of the week and were edged 6-1 by the Sharks on Tuesday afternoon from Daly Field.

Doubles: Simmons 3, Clark 0

• Seniors Amy Marin and Emma Allen took their number three doubles match to a tiebreak against Lowe and Parsons before falling 6-7 (4-7).
• Junior Crisi Patel and first-year Amanda Keith won two games in number two action as they lost their match 2-6.
• In number one doubles, first-year Larkin Gardinier and junior Merielle Kane dropped their match 0-6 to Shutts and Lapointe.

Singles: Simmons 5, Clark 1

• Allen recorded Clark's singles victory in number five play with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win against Lopez.
• In number six action, Marin took the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 4-6 and was edged 5-10 in the tiebreak by Burke.
• Keith also went three sets in her number three singles match, taking the first set 6-3, lost 3-6 in the second and dropped the third set 7-10.
• Kane (0-6, 3-6) and sophomore Varvara Maltseva (2-6, 1-6) each took three games across two sets in number two and four action.
• Gardinier (No. 1) also competed for the scarlet and white.

What's Next
The Cougars will return to the court on Saturday when they travel to St. Joe's (Ct.) for a road match against the Blue Jays beginning at 12:00 p.m.
