Women's Tennis Registers 4-3 Win Over Simmons

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (3-2) welcomed Simmons (4-4) to Corash on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 4-3 victory.

Doubles: Simmons 2, Clark 1
  • Senior Crisi Patel and sophomore Amanda Keith won the lone doubles match for the Cougars in number three action, recording a 6-3 victory over Burke and Bruce.
  • Senior Merielle Kane and junior Olivia Shipley battled with Lapointe and Parsons in number two play and forced a tiebreak, but fell 6-7.
  • In number one doubles. sophomore Larkin Gardinier and junior Varvara Maltseva dropped their match to Shutts and Vad.
Singles: Clark 4, Simmons 2
  • Sophomore Elena Zhakov won her match due to suspension in number six action.
  • Keith registered a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory in number five play over Bruce.
  • Shipley battled with Parsons in number four action and recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win.
  • In number three singles, Kane clinched the match with a back-and-forth 6-4, 7-5 victory against Burke.
  • Maltseva won five games across two sets, but fell 1-6, 4-6 to Vad in number two play.
  • Gardinier competed in number one singles against Lapointe.
What's Next
Clark will close out the fall with a home match against Bard on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
