WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (1-0) opened their 2025 season with a home match and cruised to a 6-1 victory over UMass Dartmouth (1-1) on Tuesday afternoon from the Corash Tennis Courts.
Doubles: Clark 2, UMass Dartmouth 1
- Seniors Merielle Kane and Crisi Patel earned a 6-1 victory over Tobias and Croce in number two action.
- In number three doubles, junior Olivia Shipley and sophomore Amanda Keith clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win against Doiron and Agular.
- Sophomore Larkin Gardiner and junior Varvara Maltseva took two games in number one doubles, but fell 2-6 to Gonzalez and Dean.
Singles: Clark 5, UMass Dartmouth 1
- Keith recorded a 6-3, 6-1 victory in number five singles over Doiron to tally the Cougars first singles point.
- Sophomore Elena Zhakov registered a 6-4, 6-0 win in number six action against Agular.
- Kane clinched the match for Clark in number three singles, recording a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tobias.
- Shipley topped Beltran-Fuenzalida 6-4, 6-1 in number four play.
- In number two singles. Maltseva dropped the first set 4-6, took the second set 7-5, and won the tiebreak 10-3 in the deciding set against Dean.
- Gardiner dropped her singles match 3-6, 2-6 in number one action to Gonzalez.

The scarlet and white will return to the court on Thursday when they welcome Lesley to Corash for a match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
