Owls Too Much For Cougars In 4-1 Win

Worcester, Mass. - The visiting Keene State Owls scored four unanswered goals in the second half to reel in a 4-1 win over host Clark University on Wednesday afternoon on Granger Field.

With the win, the Owls improve to 6-2, while the Cougars dropped their second straight, falling to 3-4 on the season.

Clark took a lead into halftime, getting a goal from Molly Meehan (Scotch Plains, N.J.) at the 31:15 mark.

The second half, however, proved to be all Keene State starting with a goal from Kendra Spencer at 46:20 to even the game.

Katie Bradford scored her sixth goal of the season seven minutes later to give the Owls the lead for good.

KSC's final two goals came minutes apart as Molly Brunelle and Jaclyn Grant both found the back of the net.

The Owls held a sizeable advantage in shots (17-7), including an 8-3 edge in the second half.

Meghan Dempsey turned away four shots for Keene State, while Joanna Clark (Windham, Maine) also made four saves in goal.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they travel to Coast Guard for their NEWMAC opener, while the Owls host Eastern Connecticut at 1 p.m. on Saturday as well.
