Worcester, Mass. - The visiting Keene State
Owls scored four unanswered goals in the second half to reel in a
4-1 win over host Clark University on Wednesday afternoon on
Granger Field.
With the win, the Owls improve to 6-2, while the Cougars dropped
their second straight, falling to 3-4 on the season.
Clark took a lead into halftime, getting a goal from Molly
Meehan (Scotch Plains, N.J.) at the 31:15 mark.
The second half, however, proved to be all Keene State starting
with a goal from Kendra Spencer at 46:20 to even the game.
Katie Bradford scored her sixth goal of the season seven minutes
later to give the Owls the lead for good.
KSC's final two goals came minutes apart as Molly Brunelle and
Jaclyn Grant both found the back of the net.
The Owls held a sizeable advantage in shots (17-7), including an
8-3 edge in the second half.
Meghan Dempsey turned away four shots for Keene State, while
Joanna
Clark (Windham, Maine) also made four saves in
goal.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they travel to Coast
Guard for their NEWMAC opener, while the Owls host Eastern
Connecticut at 1 p.m. on Saturday as well.
