Box Score DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Clark University baseball team (2-1) won their second consecutive game in Florida with a convincing 8-1 victory against Thomas (2-1) on Monday afternoon from Northeast Regional Park.
How It Happened
- Junior Maxwell Gitlin took the bump for the Cougars and pitched a scoreless first inning and senior Ryan Caulfield singled to left field in the bottom of the inning, but was left on base.
- Senior Connor Rulnick and junior Billy Sullvan each reached base in the bottom of the second and were left on base before Clark plated two runs in the bottom of the third when sophomore CJ Johnson and senior Anthony Keefe each drove in runs to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead.
- Gitlin got out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth when he struck out Stebbins to keep the Cougars in the lead and retired the side in order in the fifth.
- Clark opened the game up in the bottom of the sixth when they plated six runs, starting with an RBI walk from junior Samuel Farrell, a two-RBI single from Caulfield, a steal of home from Farrell, and runs from Caulfield and Keefe to take an 8-0 lead.
- Thomas added one run back in the top of the seventh before senior Michael Carterud came into the game and pitched a pair of scoreless innings to give Clark an 8-1 win over Thomas.

- Gitlin pitched 7.0 innings, struck out five batters, and only allowed one run.
- Caulfield went 3-5 with two RBI's and two runs scored.
- Farrell was 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
