MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Clark University women's soccer sophomore
Georgia Louis was named NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
This is her first NEWMAC Weekly accolade and is the second Cougar this season to earn the honor as senior
Gabriella Herivaux last week. Louis was named to the All-NEWMAC Second Team last season.
"Georgia is playing with a lot of confidence so far this season," said head coach Brienne Smith. "Her composure on the ball, especially in front of the goal, has been so much fun to watch. She worked really hard during the off season and is committed to bringing her best every time she steps on the field!"
Louis (West Hartford, Conn.) led the Cougars' offense this week with three goals and an assist in two games. The sophomore opened her week with two goals and an assist in a 10-0 victory at Framingham State on Wednesday. Louis registered Clark's goal in a 1-1 draw against WNE on Saturday.
The sophomore is tied for the team lead across three matches with three goals, three assists, and nine points. The Cougars will return to action on Wednesday for a road contest at Brandeis beginning at 7:00 p.m.
