He earned All-New England honors in both the 400m and the high jump all four years. In 1983, he won the New England Division III indoor high jump event with a personal best of 6’8”. That spring, competing against Division I and II athletes at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Brigida was the All-division champion in the 400m, while also winning the Division III high jump. For his outstanding performances, he received the Sabe Award, given to the meet's most outstanding Division III performer. Brigida also was the Worcester City Champion all four years in both the 400m and the high jump.

In cross country, Brigida was one of Clark's top runners in each of his four seasons. On the basketball court, he was a three-year player and part of the Cougar squad that was the 1984 NCAA National Runner-Up.

For his accomplishments in both athletics and academics, Brigida was a two-time recipient (1983-84) of the Clark Athletic Department’s Russ Granger Award as the top male scholar-athlete. He also was honored in 1984 with the department’s Fred Hebert Award as the top male senior athlete.

Returning to Clark in 1986 to coach the men’s and women’s cross country teams, Brigida directed the women’s squad to the 1985 Worcester City Championship. In addition to coaching at his alma mater, Brigida has taught math at Worcester's St. Mary’s High School since 1986.
