Garcia left their mark on the Clark swimming and diving program as a six-time All-American diver who won three New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Year awards from 2009 to 2012.
They hold all the diving records at Clark and are a five-time NEWMAC champion. Garcia set the 1-Meter (11), 3-Meter (6), and 3-Meter (11) records in 2011 with scores of 476, 325.18, and 531.65, respectively. In 2012 they set the 1-Meter (6) record with a score of 316.80.
For their outstanding performances over four years, Garcia was awarded the Alice Higgins Award and M. Hazel Hughes Award as a senior. The Alice Higgins Award is given annually to a student-athlete who has combined academic excellence with athletic achievement. The M. Hazel Hughes Award is awarded to a senior student-athlete who has made the most significant contribution to the intercollegiate athletic program.
Garcia was also a two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree and was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar-Athlete in 2012.
A 2012 graduate with a degree in communications and cultural studies, Garcia works as the Director of Communications at Kirrin Finch in Brooklyn, N.Y.
They reside in Ridgewood, N.Y., with their fiancée, Hayley Kishel.
