McGuire was a four-year standout player in the women’s basketball program.

She was a Kodak All-America selection, team MVP, team captain, and the leading scorer on the 1988-89 team which finished with a 28-1 record (including a perfect 26-0 regular season).

The 1988-89 squad also earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. McGuire was named to the NCAA Regionall All-Tournament Team in 1989 and was also selected as ECAC and NEWBA Player of the Year.

She is Clark’s third all-time leading scorer (1,631 points) and still holds the school record for career free throws (465), and is tied for three throw attempts (17) and rebounds in a game (22).

During the 1987-88 season, she was the team’s leading scorer and ECAC Tournament MVP, leading the Cougars to the ECAC Championship.

In 1989, McGuire earned the Clark Athletic Department Merit Award which recognizes senior athletes who have had a significant impact on their sport.
