Chris Reed '85 was a three-sport athlete who excelled in field hockey, basketball, and softball.
She was the first woman at Clark to play twelve varsity seasons for the Cougars. In all, she played in more than 200 athletic contests, earning a 137-86-11 overall record in three sports. As a senior, she was the recipient of the M. Hazel Hughes Trophy, presented to the outstanding senior female athlete.
Reed's top sport was field hockey. She captained the squad as a senior and was the Cougars' leading scorer in 1983. She was selected to the Northeast Regional All-Star team in 1982, 1983, and 1984 and was a 1983 and 1984 All-New England selection. In basketball, Reed was part of two Clark squads that played their way to the NCAA Division III Final Four in 1982 and 1983. On the softball diamond, she was a team captain her senior year.
Following graduation from Clark, Reed went on to serve as assistant basketball coach at Worcester State College. She then returned to Clark to assist with coaching the field hockey and softball squads from 1987-1989.
